Travel funds from unused or canceled flight reservations have to be used by the originally ticketed passenger on those reservations. That means your Southwest travel funds are all yours (sorry, Mom).
If you cancel your reservation at least 10 minutes prior to departure, the fare paid for the unused ticket (inducing taxes, security fees, and Passenger Facility Charges) will be applied as travel funds toward the purchase of future travel on Southwest. The reusable travel funds can be used by the originally ticketed Passenger only.
Southwest Airlines accepts unused ticketless travel funds for Passenger travel purchased through Southwest Airlines, excluding the Southwest Airlines Group Travel Services. Unused ticketless travel funds may be redeemed for travel at Southwest.com, over the phone with a Southwest Airlines Reservations, and at a Southwest Airlines ticket counter.

Rewards travel is subject to taxes, fees, and other government or airport-imposed charges from $5.60 per one-way trip. They can be paid by the Member with a credit card, travel fund, or Southwest gift card.
